Is a Bb.Q Chicken franchisee required to purchase or lease fixtures, furnishings, and equipment?

- 7.5.5 To purchase or lease and install, at your expense, all fixtures, furnishings, equipment (including point-of-sale and computer hardware and software systems), décor items, signs, delivery vehicles, and related items as we may reasonably direct from time to time in the Manuals or otherwise in writing; and to refrain from installing or permitting to be installed on or about the Franchised Business, without our prior written consent, any fixtures, furnishings, equipment, delivery vehicles, décor items, signs, games, vending machines or other items not previously approved as meeting our standards and specifications.
If any of the property described above is leased by you from a third party, such lease shall be approved by us, in writing, prior to execution.

According to Bb.Q Chicken's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are required to purchase or lease and install fixtures, furnishings, and equipment. Bb.Q Chicken franchisees must get approval before installing any fixtures, furnishings, or equipment that haven't been previously approved. If a franchisee chooses to lease any of these items from a third party, the lease agreement needs written approval from Bb.Q Chicken. This approval is contingent on the lease containing a provision that allows the franchisee's interest in the lease to be assigned to Bb.Q Chicken upon termination or expiration of the Franchise Agreement. The lease must also prohibit the lessor from imposing any assignment fees on Bb.Q Chicken in connection with the assignment.
Bb.Q Chicken also maintains control over where franchisees source these items. Franchisees must comply with Bb.Q Chicken's standards and specifications for all fixtures, furnishings, and equipment. Generally, these items must be purchased from approved suppliers who meet Bb.Q Chicken's standards and have adequate quality controls. Failure to purchase from approved suppliers can be a material default of the franchise agreement, potentially leading to termination if the franchisee makes unauthorized purchases on three or more occasions.
