You must permit us or our agents, at any reasonable time, to remove a reasonable number of samples of food or non-food items from your inventory or from the Franchised Business free of charge for testing by us or by an independent laboratory to determine whether the samples meet our then-current standards and specifications. You must obtain all food and beverage items, ingredients, supplies, materials, fixtures, furnishings, equipment (including point-of-sale system and communication systems), and other products used or offered for sale at the Franchised Business solely from suppliers who demonstrate, to our continuing reasonable satisfaction, the ability to meet our then-current standards or in accordance with our standards and specifications.
A complete list of our approved products and suppliers will be included in the Manual and is subject to change over time. We will provide you notice in the Manual or otherwise in writing (such as via email) of any changes to the lists of approved products and approved suppliers. What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Bb.Q Chicken's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees may be responsible for covering the costs of testing food and non-food items under specific circumstances. Bb.Q Chicken or its agents have the right to take samples from the franchisee's inventory for testing to ensure they meet the brand's standards.
However, the franchisee may be required to reimburse Bb.Q Chicken for the testing costs if the supplier of the item has not been previously approved by Bb.Q Chicken, or if the sample fails to meet the company's specifications. This policy ensures that franchisees adhere to Bb.Q Chicken's quality standards and use approved suppliers.
Furthermore, if a franchisee wishes to use products or suppliers not already approved, they must seek approval from Bb.Q Chicken. In this case, the franchisee must reimburse Bb.Q Chicken for travel charges and costs related to testing and inspection, up to a maximum of $1,500. This cost can be significant for new franchisees, especially if they are exploring alternative suppliers or products. It is important to note that Bb.Q Chicken does not disclose its criteria for product or supplier approval and is not obligated to approve any product or supplier if it is not in the best interest of the Bb.Q Chicken system.
