Can Bb.Q Chicken or its agents take samples from my inventory for testing?
Bb_Q_Chicken Franchise · 2025 FDDAnswer from 2025 FDD Document
You must permit us or our agents, at any reasonable time, to remove a reasonable number of samples of food or non-food items from your inventory or from the Franchised Business free of charge for testing by us or by an independent laboratory to determine whether the samples meet our then-current standards and specifications. In addition to any other remedies we may have, we may require you to reimburse our costs for the testing if we have not previously approved the supplier of the item or if the sample fails to conform to our specifications.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Bb.Q Chicken's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Bb.Q Chicken or its agents have the right to take samples from a franchisee's inventory for testing. Bb.Q Chicken or its agents can remove a reasonable number of food or non-food items from the franchisee's business at any reasonable time, free of charge. These samples will be used to determine if they meet Bb.Q Chicken's current standards and specifications, either by Bb.Q Chicken itself or by an independent laboratory.
If the supplier of the sampled item has not been previously approved by Bb.Q Chicken, or if the sample fails to meet the required specifications, the franchisee may be required to reimburse Bb.Q Chicken for the costs associated with the testing. This provision ensures that franchisees adhere to the brand's quality standards and source products from approved suppliers.
This policy is fairly standard in franchising, as franchisors need to maintain quality control and consistency across all locations. The potential for the franchisee to bear the costs of testing if they deviate from approved suppliers or standards is an important consideration. Franchisees should ensure they only use approved suppliers and adhere to Bb.Q Chicken's specifications to avoid these charges.
