What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Bb.Q Chicken's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisor has the right to specify additional insurance coverages and higher policy limits that franchisees must obtain.
Bb.Q Chicken franchisees are required to maintain several insurance policies, including comprehensive general liability coverage of $5,000,000, all risks coverage for the full repair and replacement value of equipment, employer's liability, workers' compensation, dram shop, business interruption insurance, and any insurance required by the lease for the restaurant premises. In addition to these, Bb.Q Chicken can mandate 'any other insurance coverages we may require in the future.'
This clause provides Bb.Q Chicken with the flexibility to adapt insurance requirements as needed, which could be due to changes in the legal or business environment. While the specific nature of these future coverages is not defined, franchisees should be prepared for the possibility of increased insurance costs and the administrative burden of obtaining additional policies if Bb.Q Chicken deems it necessary.
