Answer from 2025 FDD Document

You must erect a barrier or place signage acceptable to us to exclude Chain guests from any areas under renovation or construction while completing the Improvement Obligation. We may require you to remove, cease display or use, or completely obscure all signage and other items bearing any Marks until the Facility meets System Standards in our discretion. We may, in our sole discretion, terminate this Agreement by giving written notice to you (subject to applicable law) if you continue to display the Marks and identify the Facility as a Chain Facility five days after we send you written notice that you have failed to complete the Improvement Obligation by the date specified in the PIP or otherwise.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Baymont Inn Suites's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Baymont Inn Suites may require a franchisee to remove, cease display or use, or completely obscure all signage and other items bearing any Marks until the Facility meets System Standards in their discretion. This condition is related to instances where the franchisee is not meeting the System Standards.

This requirement is put in place to ensure that the brand image and reputation of Baymont Inn Suites are maintained. If a facility does not meet the required standards, allowing it to continue displaying the brand's signage could negatively impact the perception of the brand by customers. This clause gives Baymont Inn Suites the power to enforce brand standards and protect its image.

Furthermore, Baymont Inn Suites may terminate the Franchise Agreement if the franchisee continues to display the Marks and identify the Facility as a Chain Facility five days after receiving written notice that they have failed to complete the Improvement Obligation by the date specified in the PIP (Property Improvement Plan). This underscores the importance of adhering to System Standards and completing required improvements in a timely manner to avoid potential termination of the franchise agreement.
