What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Baymont Inn Suites's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the general manager certification training, offered through the Hospitality Management Program, covers several key areas. These include operating a Chain Facility, marketing and sales strategies, financial management principles, guest services protocols, and people management techniques. This program may be held in a hybrid format, combining in-person and virtual elements, or in a virtual-only format.

For a prospective Baymont Inn Suites franchisee, this means that the initial and any replacement general managers must complete this certification program within 90 days of their start date. If Baymont Inn Suites does not offer a training slot within this timeframe, the general manager must attend the next available program. The general manager is required to complete the training even if they have managed other Baymont Inn Suites locations previously.

The franchisee is responsible for the tuition fee for the Hospitality Management Program, as detailed in Schedule D of the FDD. Currently, the tuition for the mandatory training program is $2,250. Additionally, if any other employees participate in the training, the franchisee must pay an Additional Attendee Fee, which is currently $1,400. The franchisee also bears the costs for travel, lodging, meals, and other incidental expenses for any in-person components of the training for the general manager and any additional staff members.

Baymont Inn Suites may also offer refresher training for general managers or additional staff, potentially at full or discounted tuition rates. Furthermore, remedial training may be required if the Facility fails to meet quality assurance standards or receives significant customer complaints. This remedial training may be delivered through a web-based platform, in person, or at corporate offices, with the franchisee responsible for the associated fees and, if applicable, lodging for the trainers when training is conducted at the Facility.
