What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Baymont Inn Suites's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, 29 franchised locations left the system during 2024. The FDD clarifies that the financial performance representations provided do not include data from any locations that were open on January 1, 2024, but subsequently left the system before December 31, 2024. Of those 29 locations that closed, 2 were open for less than 12 months.

This information is relevant for prospective franchisees as it provides insight into the stability and turnover of Baymont Inn Suites franchises. A high number of closures could indicate potential issues with the franchise system, such as lack of support, poor performance, or other challenges. Conversely, a low number of closures might suggest a healthy and well-managed franchise system.

It's important to note that the FDD does not provide specific reasons for why these 29 locations left the system. Potential franchisees should consider this closure rate in the context of the overall size of the Baymont Inn Suites system and investigate further to understand the reasons behind these closures. Speaking with current and former franchisees can provide valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities within the Baymont Inn Suites franchise system.

Prospective franchisees should also inquire about the brand's strategies for supporting franchisees and mitigating the risk of closures. Understanding the factors that contribute to franchise success and failure is crucial for making an informed investment decision.
