What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Baymont Inn Suites's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are generally free to purchase items for their facilities from any competent source, provided these items meet or exceed the System Standards. However, Baymont Inn Suites designates that certain goods and services, such as proprietary items, those bearing the Marks, items impacting life/safety, or technology required by System Standards, must be purchased only from approved suppliers.
If a franchisee chooses to purchase design elements from a supplier that is not an Approved Supplier, Baymont Inn Suites may charge a Custom Interior Design Review Fee. This fee is currently $6,000 and is assessed for the review of custom interior design drawings to ensure they comply with interior design standards. Baymont Inn Suites also may offer other optional architectural and design services for a separate fee.
In summary, while Baymont Inn Suites does not explicitly charge a fee for general purchasing assistance, franchisees may incur a $6,000 fee if they opt to use non-approved suppliers for certain design elements and require a review to ensure compliance with the brand's standards. This policy encourages franchisees to use approved suppliers to maintain consistency and quality across all Baymont Inn Suites locations, while also providing an option for customization at an additional cost.
