What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Baya Bar's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, Baya Bar does not mandate that the General Manager have an ownership stake in the franchise. However, the brand recommends that if the franchisee is an individual, they should consider being the General Manager.
The FDD states that while franchisees are not required to be actively involved in the daily operations of their Baya Bar shop, it is recommended that they participate. If the franchisee chooses not to be actively involved, Baya Bar may communicate with and rely on the decisions made by the General Manager. In this case, the franchisee must ensure that the shop adheres to the Franchise Agreement and the Manual.
The General Manager must meet Baya Bar's educational and business criteria, as detailed in the Manual or other written instructions, and must be approved by Baya Bar. The General Manager is responsible for supervising and managing the shop, dedicating their full time and best efforts to this role. If the General Manager cannot fulfill their duties or no longer meets the requirements, they must be replaced within 30 days.
