Is a Baya Bar franchisee required to be the General Manager of their franchise?
Baya_Bar Franchise · 2024 FDDAnswer from 2024 FDD Document
You must designate a general manager who will be the main individual responsible for your business (the "General Manager"). We recommend, but do not require, that you be the General Manager. Your General Manager does not have to own an equity interest in the franchise. The General Manager must sign covenants to maintain the confidentiality of information he/she learns while employed as your General Manager, and your General Manager must sign non-competition covenants.

What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Baya Bar's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee is not required to be the General Manager of their Baya Bar franchise. The FDD states that the franchisee must designate a general manager who will be the main individual responsible for the business.
However, Baya Bar recommends, but does not mandate, that the franchisee be the General Manager. The General Manager does not have to own an equity interest in the franchise.
The General Manager is required to sign covenants to maintain the confidentiality of information he/she learns while employed as the General Manager, and must also sign non-competition covenants. This ensures the protection of Baya Bar's proprietary information and business interests, regardless of whether the franchisee or another individual is appointed as the General Manager.
