What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Batteries Plus Bulbs's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the Omni-Channel Software is a proprietary software that enables retail and commercial customers to place and manage orders for products through a secured website. This software is part of the Retail Management System that Batteries Plus Bulbs requires franchisees to use.

For a prospective franchisee, this means that the Omni-Channel Software is a key component for facilitating online orders, which is increasingly important in today's market. Batteries Plus Bulbs does not provide modifications or enhancements to the Omni-Channel Software, but franchisees must incorporate upgrades and updates to the Retail Management System as they become available. Franchisees are also required to reimburse Batteries Plus Bulbs for costs associated with the Omni-Channel Program.

The Omni-Channel Software is part of a broader technology infrastructure that Batteries Plus Bulbs mandates, including specific hardware and software packages. This integrated system is designed to ensure that the store's retail management system operates effectively over a Wide Area Network (WAN). Franchisees should be aware of the costs associated with this system, including the Omni-Channel Fee, IT Infrastructure Maintenance Fee, and credit card processing fees with Fiserv. Batteries Plus Bulbs retains independent access to operational and financial data produced by the Retail Management System.
