As an individual unit franchisee, what rights will I receive from Batteries Plus Bulbs?

If you are an individual unit franchisee, you will receive the right to own and operate a Store at a location we approve, offering the products and services we approve and using our formats, designs, methods, specifications, standards, operating and marketing procedures and the "Licensed Marks" (as defined in Item 13) under a "Franchise Agreement" including "Batteries Plus" (the "System"). Your Store will offer products and services to both commercial accounts and retail customers. You will begin operating by offering commercial sales activities after you successfully complete commercial sales training, including soliciting and servicing commercial accounts, and will begin retail sales activities once your Store opens.
We are currently testing a "Commercial as a Service in Market Rep" for a limited number of Stores that have been open a minimum of 36 months. Through this program, we have arranged for participating franchisees to have a commercial sales associate in their market. Upon completion of the test, we may expand this program to additional franchisees.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Batteries Plus Bulbs' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, an individual unit franchisee receives the right to own and operate a store at an approved location. This includes offering approved products and services, utilizing Batteries Plus Bulbs' formats, designs, methods, specifications, standards, operating and marketing procedures, and using the "Licensed Marks" under a Franchise Agreement, referred to as the "System". The store will cater to both commercial accounts and retail customers.
Initially, franchisees will focus on commercial sales activities after completing commercial sales training, which involves soliciting and servicing commercial accounts. Retail sales activities will commence once the store is open. This phased approach allows franchisees to build a commercial client base before fully engaging in retail operations.
Batteries Plus Bulbs is also testing a "Commercial as a Service in Market Rep" program for stores open for at least 36 months, providing franchisees with a commercial sales associate in their market. While this program is currently limited, there is potential for expansion to additional franchisees upon completion of the test phase. This could provide an added benefit to franchisees who qualify, enhancing their commercial sales capabilities.
