Can a Batteries Plus Bulbs franchisee register any of the Licensed Marks as Internet domain names?

According to the 2025 Batteries Plus Bulbs Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are restricted in their use of the Licensed Marks, especially concerning the internet and websites. Batteries Plus Bulbs retains the sole right to advertise the System on the Internet and to create, operate, maintain, modify, or discontinue the use of a website using the Licensed Marks.

This means a franchisee cannot register any of the Batteries Plus Bulbs Licensed Marks as internet domain names. The franchisee's use of the internet, including domain names, is subject to the agreement's provisions. The agreement specifies that Batteries Plus Bulbs retains all rights relating to the Batteries Plus Bulbs website and intranet system and may alter or terminate the website or intranet system upon thirty (30) days' notice to the franchisee.

These restrictions ensure that Batteries Plus Bulbs maintains control over its brand and online presence. A franchisee's right to participate in the Batteries Plus Bulbs website or intranet system or otherwise use the Licensed Marks or the System on the Internet will terminate when the Franchise Agreement expires or terminates.
