What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Batteries Plus Bulbs Franchise Disclosure Document, the Back Office Software is a component of the Retail Management System (RMS) that franchisees are required to use. As of March 1, 2025, this software is specifically designed to track various aspects of a Batteries Plus Bulbs store's operations.
The Back Office Software helps franchisees manage their business by tracking inventory levels, processing vendor purchase orders, generating daily sales reports, and managing accounts receivable. This suggests that the software provides a centralized platform for overseeing key financial and operational functions within the store.
In addition to the Back Office Software, the Retail Management System includes ProSource RMS™ software for point-of-sale ticket entry and cross-referencing products, and Omni-Channel Software for managing online orders. Franchisees must operate these software components with a designated hardware package, including multiple computers and a PCI-compliant firewall, highlighting the importance of a robust IT infrastructure. Batteries Plus Bulbs provides ongoing maintenance and repairs for the Back Office Software, with fees incorporated into the monthly software support fee.
