What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Batteries Plus Bulbs Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee in good standing can renew their Franchise Agreement for one additional 10-year term. To do so, the franchisee must provide advance notice as specified in Section 3 of the agreement.
In addition to providing advance notice, the franchisee must comply with the current Franchise Agreement. Both the franchisee and their store manager must satisfactorily complete any new or refresher training programs that Batteries Plus Bulbs requires at the time of renewal. Furthermore, the franchisee and their principal owners must meet the then-current managerial, financial, and business standards set by Batteries Plus Bulbs.
As part of the renewal process, the franchisee is required to sign a new agreement, which Batteries Plus Bulbs notes may contain materially different terms and conditions than the original Franchise Agreement. The franchisee must also remodel their store to current brand standards, pay the renewal fee, pay the Omni-Channel access renewal fee, and sign a general release of claims, which releases Batteries Plus Bulbs from any past liabilities.
