What is the required condition of the vehicle used for a Bath Tune Up franchise?

Bath_Tune_Up Franchise · 2025 FDD

Answer from 2025 FDD Document

    1. You must have a white vehicle with the approved BATH TUNE-UP® signage for each franchised business. We give you the artwork files for the signage. This is the estimated cost per vehicle. The white vehicle must be in unblemished condition. The vehicle must be continuously maintained and present a profession impression. Since we do not know if you already own a white vehicle or the manufacturer, model or condition of the vehicle you may be using, the low range assumes that you can affix the required signage to a white vehicle that you already own, which complies with our standards, or that you lease or place a down payment on a vehicle. The high range involves an estimate if you must purchase, or lease, a white vehicle, plus the cost to purchase and affix the signage, to comply with our standards. You should not purchase your vehicle for cash unless you will still have at least that same amount available as additional working capital to operate your business. From time to time your affiliation with HFC may allow for discounts on these vehicles

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Bath Tune Up's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, each franchise must operate a white vehicle with approved Bath Tune Up signage. The FDD specifies that the vehicle must be in "unblemished condition" and continuously maintained to present a professional image.

The estimated cost for the vehicle ranges from $7,000 to $40,000, depending on whether the franchisee already owns a suitable vehicle or needs to purchase or lease one. The lower end of the range assumes the franchisee can use an existing white vehicle that meets Bath Tune Up's standards, while the higher end accounts for the purchase or lease of a new or used vehicle, plus the cost of the required signage.

Bath Tune Up requires franchisees to maintain a professional image, and the vehicle is a key part of that. The FDD advises franchisees against depleting their working capital to purchase a vehicle outright. Franchisees are encouraged to consult with their Operations Manager before making a vehicle purchase or lease to ensure it meets all requirements and is a sound financial decision.
