What happens if the population within a Bath Tune Up territory increases?
Bath_Tune_Up Franchise · 2025 FDDAnswer from 2025 FDD Document
Your Territory will be described by United States Postal Service ZIP Codes in your franchise agreement. Each territory will begin with about 41,000 households. The ZIP codes making up your territory will not change even if their boundaries are expanded or contracted by the Postal Service or if the population within them decreases or increases.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Bath Tune Up's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the boundaries of a franchisee's territory, defined by United States Postal Service ZIP Codes, will not change even if the population within those ZIP codes increases. Each territory is designed to begin with approximately 41,000 households. This means that if the population grows within a franchisee's territory, the franchisee will not automatically receive additional ZIP codes or an expanded territory. The initial territory defined in the franchise agreement remains constant regardless of population changes.
This policy has important implications for prospective Bath Tune Up franchisees. On one hand, a growing population within the territory could lead to increased business opportunities and revenue potential without any increase in franchise fees or territorial costs. The franchisee could benefit from the increased demand for bath improvement services in a more densely populated area. On the other hand, if the population growth is substantial, the franchisee's capacity to serve the entire territory might be strained. This could potentially lead to longer lead times, customer service challenges, or the need to expand the business's operational capabilities.
It is also important to note that while the territory's ZIP codes will not change with population increases, Bath Tune Up retains the right to establish businesses similar to the franchised business under different trade names and marks within the franchisee's territory. They can also sell bath improvement components and services through other means that do not involve both the System and the Marks. This means that even with a growing population, Bath Tune Up could introduce competition within the franchisee's territory through alternative channels or brands. Franchisees need to be aware of these potential competitive scenarios and factor them into their business planning and growth strategies.
