Does Basecamp Fitness work with advertising agencies?
Basecamp_Fitness Franchise · 2025 FDDAnswer from 2025 FDD Document
Although we currently do not, in the future we may establish local advertising cooperatives in market areas in which 2 or more Basecamp Studios are operating. If we establish a cooperative in your area, or there is an existing cooperative in your area when you become a franchisee, you must participate and contribute your share to the cooperative. These cooperatives will, with our approval, administer advertising programs and develop advertising, marketing and promotional materials for the area the cooperative covers. We may require the cooperative to use an advertising agency or other partner we chose.
The amount of the contribution you must contribute will be determined at the time we establish the cooperative but will not be more than 2% of your monthly Gross Revenue. All franchisees and companyowned Basecamp Fitness studios in the market area will be expected to contribute at the same rate to the cooperative. Each Basecamp Studio contributing to a cooperative will have one vote on matters involving the activities of the cooperative. But the cooperative may not produce or use any advertising, marketing or promotional plans that have not be approved by us.
The cooperative will operate from written governing documents. Each cooperative will prepare annual financial statements which will be available for review by a franchisee participating in the cooperative, upon request of that franchisee. We may change, dissolve or merge any cooperative at any time.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Basecamp Fitness's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisor may require advertising cooperatives to use an advertising agency. These advertising cooperatives may be established in market areas where two or more Basecamp Fitness studios operate.
If an advertising cooperative is established in a franchisee's area, the franchisee must participate and contribute to it. The cooperative, with Basecamp Fitness's approval, will manage advertising programs and create marketing materials for the covered area. The contribution amount will be determined when the cooperative is established but will not exceed 2% of the franchisee's monthly Gross Revenue. All franchisees and company-owned Basecamp Fitness studios in the market area will contribute at the same rate.
Each Basecamp Fitness studio contributing to a cooperative has one vote on cooperative matters. However, the cooperative cannot produce or use any advertising or marketing plans without Basecamp Fitness's approval. Basecamp Fitness retains the right to change, dissolve, or merge any cooperative at any time. This means that while individual franchisees have a vote, Basecamp Fitness ultimately controls the advertising and marketing strategies employed by the cooperative.
