What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Basecamp Fitness's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, if a franchisee is opening their first Basecamp Studio, Basecamp Fitness may require them to obtain their Construction Documents from Basecamp Fitness's designated architectural vendor. Construction Documents are a complete set of detailed documents needed to construct the facility in compliance with Basecamp Fitness's mandatory specifications.

If the franchisee chooses not to use Basecamp Fitness's designated architectural vendor to create the Construction Documents, they must pay Basecamp Fitness a fee to review and approve the Construction Documents. The FDD states that this fee is currently $2,700. The vendor the franchisee uses must also meet any standards and specifications that Basecamp Fitness requires.

This requirement ensures that the franchisee's first studio adheres strictly to Basecamp Fitness's brand standards and operational requirements. For franchisees, this means they might have less flexibility in choosing their own architects for their first location, but it also provides the benefit of working with a vendor already familiar with Basecamp Fitness's specifications. This can potentially streamline the construction process and reduce the risk of non-compliance with brand standards.
