What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Basecamp Fitness's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee may incur a 'no show' fee for training under specific circumstances. If a franchisee or their designated personnel register for a training program but then cancel, fail to attend, or fail to have the appropriate parties attend, they may be charged a fee. This also applies if they fail to adequately prepare for the training, resulting in delays or early termination of an on-site visit or training program. Additionally, if they do not stay for the entire program, a fee may be assessed.
The critical condition for this fee to apply is the lack of sufficient notice. Specifically, the franchisee must provide Basecamp Fitness with at least two weeks' notice that they will not be attending the training. If such notice is given, the 'no show' fee will not be charged.
The 'no show' fee itself ranges from $500 to $1,000, depending on the trainer involved. However, the fee could be higher if the actual costs of rescheduling travel exceed this range. In such cases, the franchisee will be responsible for paying the greater amount, emphasizing the importance of providing timely notice to avoid unexpected expenses.
