Basecamp_Fitness Franchise · 2025 FDDAnswer from 2025 FDD Document
All equipment, furnishings, fixtures, signs, software, software support and security monitoring, supplies, branded items, marketing, maintenance services, insurance and products you purchase for use or sale in your Basecamp Studio must meet our specifications. Additionally, all membership types you offer as well as workouts provided through your Basecamp Studio must meet our specifications and, where allowed by applicable law, comply with our pricing guidelines. Those specifications may include minimum standards for delivery, performance, design, appearance, and quality. We will issue the specifications to you before you begin operating. We may include these specifications in the manual that we provide to you online, or we may issue them separately.
What This Means (2025 FDD)
Based on the 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Basecamp Fitness franchisees are required to purchase insurance that meets the franchisor's specifications. Item 8 states that all insurance purchased for use in the Basecamp Studio must meet these specifications. This requirement ensures that all franchisees maintain adequate coverage to protect the brand and its customers, and it also allows Basecamp Fitness to control the quality and consistency of insurance coverage across all franchise locations.
This requirement is tied to the restrictions on sources of services because Basecamp Fitness can dictate where franchisees obtain their insurance, potentially limiting them to approved or preferred vendors. While the FDD does not explicitly state that franchisees must use a specific insurance provider, the requirement to meet Basecamp Fitness's specifications effectively narrows the options. This control allows Basecamp Fitness to potentially negotiate better rates or coverage terms on behalf of its franchisees, but it also means franchisees may not be able to shop around for the cheapest insurance independently.
Prospective franchisees should inquire about the specific insurance requirements, including the types and amounts of coverage needed, as well as whether there are any approved or preferred insurance vendors. Understanding these requirements is crucial for budgeting and ensuring compliance with the franchise agreement. Franchisees should also clarify whether they have any flexibility in choosing insurance providers as long as the minimum specifications are met.
