What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Basecamp Fitness's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisee is responsible for the travel and lodging costs for Presale Training. Specifically, the franchisee and/or their Principal Operator and Studio Manager must attend and complete the Presale Training to Basecamp Fitness's satisfaction. This training, which lasts 3-4 days, should be completed 90-120 days before the studio is expected to open.

The training will be conducted virtually, at the franchisee's studio, or at another location designated by Basecamp Fitness. The franchisee is responsible for any travel and lodging costs that they or their personnel incur while attending the training.

This is a fairly standard practice in franchising, where the franchisor provides the training program, but the franchisee bears the costs of getting themselves and their staff to the training location. This can represent a significant expense for new Basecamp Fitness franchisees, especially if travel is involved.
