What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Basecamp Fitness's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are required to prominently display signs, at their own expense, both inside and outside the Basecamp Studio. These signs must adhere to the form, color, number, location, and size designated by Basecamp Fitness and contain their designated Marks. This means franchisees do not have complete autonomy over their studio's signage. They must follow Basecamp Fitness's guidelines to maintain brand consistency.
Basecamp Fitness retains the right to mandate the use of illuminated signs. Franchisees are responsible for securing all necessary permits and licenses for these signs and ensuring they comply with all applicable laws and ordinances. This could potentially add to the initial investment costs, as illuminated signs are typically more expensive than non-illuminated ones and may require specialized installation and maintenance.
Furthermore, franchisees are prohibited from displaying any sign or advertising within their Basecamp Studio premises that Basecamp Fitness objects to. This gives Basecamp Fitness significant control over the studio's branding and advertising. Prospective franchisees should factor in these requirements and restrictions when evaluating the franchise opportunity, as they impact both the initial setup and ongoing operational costs and marketing strategies.
