What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Basecamp Fitness's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee cannot make changes to any building plan, design, layout, decor, equipment, or signage in their Basecamp Studio without prior written consent from Basecamp Fitness. Furthermore, any changes made must adhere to the Mandatory Specifications provided by Basecamp Fitness.
This requirement ensures that all Basecamp Fitness studios maintain a consistent brand image and operational standard. Franchisees need to be aware that any deviation from the approved plans without consent could lead to non-compliance and potential penalties.
Before starting construction, franchisees must supply Basecamp Fitness with accurate site information to allow them to create a Compliance Drawing. This information includes as-built drawings, surveys, technical data, construction documents, and site plans. If the franchisee does not use Basecamp Fitness's designated architectural vendor to create the Construction Documents, they must pay Basecamp Fitness's then-current fee to review and approve the Construction Documents. However, for the first Basecamp Studio, Basecamp Fitness may require the franchisee to obtain Construction Documents from their designated architectural vendor.
