All of the marks in the chart below have been registered on the Principal Register of the United States Patent and Trademark Office ("USPTO"). These marks are the principal trademarks you will use in operating your Basecamp Studio:
| Mark | Registration Number | Registration Date | |---|---|---| | BASECAMP | 3635120 | June 9, 2009 | | | 4646648 | November 25, 2014 | | | 6464931 | August 24, 2021 | | Mark | Registration Number | Registration Date | |---|---|---| | | 6464930 | August 24, 2021 | | | 6740468 | May 24, 2022 | Although we maintain a federal trademark registration for the word mark "Basecamp", we do not have a federal trademark registration for "Basecamp Fitness" as a unitary word mark. What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Basecamp Fitness's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the Franchise Agreement grants franchisees the right to operate a Basecamp Studio under the trade names, trademarks, and service marks established by the company. The FDD indicates that the marks listed in the provided chart have been registered on the Principal Register of the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). These registered marks are the primary trademarks franchisees will use to operate their Basecamp Fitness studios.
While Basecamp Fitness maintains a federal trademark registration for the word mark "Basecamp", it does not have a federal trademark registration for "Basecamp Fitness" as a single word mark. This distinction is important because the lack of federal registration for "Basecamp Fitness" may mean that the mark does not have as many legal protections as a federally-registered trademark. Consequently, if a franchisee's right to use the "Basecamp Fitness" mark is challenged, they might need to switch to an alternative mark, potentially increasing their expenses.
The FDD lists several registration numbers and dates for the "BASECAMP" mark, including 3635120 (June 9, 2009), 4646648 (November 25, 2014), 6464931 (August 24, 2021), 6464930 (August 24, 2021), and 6740468 (May 24, 2022). These registrations show that Basecamp Fitness has taken steps to protect its brand through trademark registration, although the absence of a registration for the combined "Basecamp Fitness" mark presents a potential risk for franchisees. Prospective franchisees should consider this when evaluating the strength and defensibility of the Basecamp Fitness brand in their specific market.
