What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Basecamp Fitness's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Healthy Contributions (HC) reserves the right to change its fees and charges without prior notice. If a client of Basecamp Fitness objects to such changes, they have two options. First, the client may alter their method of payment, assuming the payment method is not mandated by the Program Provider. Second, the client may withdraw from the relevant program, as provided for in the terms and conditions of service.

This policy is important for prospective Basecamp Fitness franchisees to understand because it outlines the recourse available to clients if Healthy Contributions, a third-party payment processor and program administrator, changes its fee structure. Clients are not locked into accepting fee changes; they can either adjust their payment method or discontinue their participation in the program altogether. This flexibility could be a selling point for attracting and retaining clients, as it provides them with control over their financial commitments.

However, it's crucial to note that the ability to alter the payment method is conditional. If the Program Provider mandates a specific payment method, the client's only option upon objecting to a fee change is to withdraw from the program. This limitation should be clearly communicated to clients to avoid misunderstandings. Additionally, franchisees should stay informed about any changes to Healthy Contributions' fee structure and communicate these changes promptly to their clients.

Overall, the policy provides a degree of protection for Basecamp Fitness clients against unilateral fee increases by Healthy Contributions. By offering the option to change payment methods or withdraw from the program, clients retain some control over their participation and costs. This can contribute to a more positive client experience and strengthen the relationship between the franchisee and their client base.
