What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Basecamp Fitness's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Basecamp Fitness is not obligated to provide training or assistance to a franchisee's particular level of satisfaction. Instead, the level of assistance and training provided is based on Basecamp Fitness's experience, knowledge, and judgment. This means that while Basecamp Fitness will provide training and support, the franchisee cannot demand a specific level of satisfaction from it.
This provision protects Basecamp Fitness from franchisees who may have unrealistic expectations or demands regarding training and support. However, if a franchisee believes that Basecamp Fitness has failed to adequately provide pre-opening services, they must notify Basecamp Fitness in writing within thirty days following the opening of their Basecamp Studio. Failure to do so will be deemed as conclusive acknowledgment that all pre-opening and opening services were sufficient and satisfactory.
This clause highlights the importance of clear communication and documentation. Franchisees should carefully document any concerns they have about the training and support provided by Basecamp Fitness and promptly communicate those concerns in writing within the specified timeframe. This will help ensure that any issues are addressed in a timely manner and that the franchisee's rights are protected. Franchisees should also pay close attention to the training requirements for themselves, their Principal Operator, and their fitness coaches, as Basecamp Fitness requires these individuals to complete training programs to their satisfaction.
