What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Basecamp Fitness's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee has 30 days to sign the standard Franchise Agreement after receiving it, provided they pay the Renewal Fee instead of the Initial Franchise Fee outlined in the then-current Franchise Agreement. This 30-day window is a critical deadline for franchisees seeking to renew their franchise.
It's important to note that the terms of the renewed Franchise Agreement may differ from the original agreement. These differences can include higher fees and modifications to the Protected Territory, which could be based on Basecamp Fitness's current methods for determining protected territories. This may even result in a reduction in the size of the Protected Territory.
In addition to signing the agreement within 30 days, the franchisee must also present satisfactory evidence that they have the right to remain in possession of the Franchised Location for the duration of the renewal term. If Basecamp Fitness determines that the location is no longer viable, they may require the franchisee to obtain a new, approved site. The franchisee's management staff must also successfully complete any refresher training prescribed by Basecamp Fitness at least 30 days before the expiration of the current agreement. Finally, the franchisee must sign and deliver a general release of claims against Basecamp Fitness and its affiliates.
