What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Basecamp Fitness's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, all individuals attending the initial training program must sign a confidentiality agreement before attending. The franchisee is responsible for providing Basecamp Fitness with a copy of the signed agreement. This initial training program may be provided virtually, in-person at Basecamp Fitness's corporate offices, or at another location designated by them.
Confidentiality agreements are standard practice in franchising to protect the franchisor's proprietary information, trade secrets, and operating methods. By requiring attendees to sign a confidentiality agreement, Basecamp Fitness aims to safeguard its system and prevent unauthorized disclosure of sensitive information. This is particularly important during training, where franchisees and their staff gain access to detailed operational knowledge.
The franchisee is responsible for ensuring that all individuals attending the training sign the agreement and that Basecamp Fitness receives a copy. Failure to comply with this requirement could result in a breach of the franchise agreement. Franchisees should carefully review the terms of the confidentiality agreement to understand their obligations and ensure that their staff members are also aware of these obligations. This helps maintain the integrity of the Basecamp Fitness system and protects the franchisor's intellectual property.
In addition to the initial training program, Basecamp Fitness also requires the franchisee's Principal Operator, studio and fitness manager to sign a confidentiality agreement. This agreement ensures they maintain the confidentiality of all confidential information and trade secrets provided to them, and that they do not use any of the Names and Marks except in the performance of their duties in the Basecamp business.
