Does Basecamp Fitness guarantee site selection or lease negotiation assistance?
Basecamp_Fitness Franchise · 2025 FDDAnswer from 2025 FDD Document
You will be given the right to open a Basecamp Studio at a location that we agree on. You will have 12 months from the date you sign the Franchise Agreement to secure a location we approve and open and begin operating your Basecamp Studio. We will provide you with specifications to assist you in evaluating and selecting a site for your Basecamp Studio and may provide you recommendations on sites. It is your obligation to select a site for your studio and obtain our approval of that site. While we will assist you, and we may identify various potential sites in your market area, we have no obligation to locate or select a site for you, or negotiate the purchase or lease of a site, and we do not own the premises and lease them to you. Before you acquire any site, you must submit to us information and materials we require and obtain our approval to your site. The factors we take into account in approving a site are the visibility of the site, the location of competitors, whether the site is easily accessible, surrounding businesses and various other factors. We recommend that a Basecamp Studio should be 2,500 square feet but no larger than 3,000 square feet. We will generally tell you within 30 days whether or not we approve your proposed site. If you and we are unable to agree on a site for your Basecamp Studio, the opening of your Basecamp Studio may be delayed.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Basecamp Fitness's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Basecamp Fitness does not guarantee site selection or lease negotiation. While Basecamp Fitness will provide franchisees with specifications to assist in evaluating and selecting a site and may provide recommendations, the franchisee is ultimately responsible for selecting a site and obtaining Basecamp Fitness's approval. Basecamp Fitness has no obligation to locate or select a site or negotiate the purchase or lease of a site. Basecamp Fitness does not own the premises and lease them to the franchisee.
Before a franchisee acquires a site, they must submit required information and materials to Basecamp Fitness for approval. Basecamp Fitness will consider factors such as site visibility, the location of competitors, site accessibility, and surrounding businesses when approving a site. Basecamp Fitness recommends that a studio be 2,500 to 3,000 square feet. Basecamp Fitness will generally inform the franchisee of their site approval decision within 30 days.
If the franchisee and Basecamp Fitness cannot agree on a site, the studio opening may be delayed. This lack of guarantee and the shared responsibility for site selection could lead to potential delays and increased costs for the franchisee if finding a mutually agreeable location proves difficult. Franchisees should carefully consider these factors and their own capabilities in site selection and negotiation when evaluating a Basecamp Fitness franchise.
