What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Basecamp Fitness's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Basecamp Fitness does not generally limit the persons to whom a franchisee may sell memberships. However, Basecamp Fitness can impose minimum age restrictions and other requirements they deem appropriate, either for safety reasons, or to preserve the goodwill of their Marks for the benefit of all franchisees.

As a Basecamp Fitness franchisee, this means you'll typically have broad discretion in who you sell memberships to. This flexibility allows you to target a wide range of potential customers and grow your membership base. However, you must be prepared to implement any age restrictions or other requirements that Basecamp Fitness might introduce to ensure safety or protect the brand's reputation.

This policy is fairly standard in the fitness franchise industry, where franchisors often balance brand consistency with the franchisee's ability to attract local customers. While Basecamp Fitness gives franchisees freedom in membership sales, they retain the right to implement restrictions to maintain brand standards and ensure the safety of members. Franchisees should stay informed about any changes to these policies to remain compliant and avoid potential conflicts.
