What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Basecamp Fitness's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are generally required to use the franchisor's designated architectural vendor to create a complete set of detailed Construction Documents. However, Basecamp Fitness may allow a franchisee to use an alternative vendor.
If a franchisee chooses to use a vendor other than Basecamp Fitness's designated architectural vendor, the franchisee bears the cost for Basecamp Fitness to review the Construction Documents. This implies that using an alternative vendor is possible, but it will incur additional expenses for the franchisee.
This requirement ensures that all Basecamp Fitness studios adhere to the brand's standards and specifications. By mandating the use of a designated vendor, Basecamp Fitness aims to maintain consistency in studio design and construction, which can impact the customer experience and brand image. However, the option to use an alternative vendor, subject to franchisor approval and review fees, provides some flexibility for franchisees who may have existing relationships with other qualified vendors.
