Are fees payable before the Basecamp Fitness 'Coaches Training Course' occurs?

Between forty five (45) and sixty (60) days before opening of your Basecamp Studio, your Fitness Manager must attend and complete to our satisfaction our "Coaches Training Course" and "Day in the Life Training." Further, between seven (7) and thirty (30) days before opening of your Basecamp Studio, at least 3 of your fitness coaches must attend and complete to our satisfaction our "Coaches Training Course." Each new coach you retain must complete to our satisfaction this course within forty-five (45) days after you retain the person.
This course will be held online or at a location we specify.
We will charge our then-current fee for this course, plus costs of travel lodging and meals if held at a location other than our corporate offices or online.
Fees are payable before the training occurs.
You are also responsible for all travel and living expenses your personnel may incur in attending the training.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Basecamp Fitness's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, fees for the Coaches Training Course are payable before the training occurs. Specifically, between 45 and 60 days before the Basecamp Studio opens, the Fitness Manager must attend the Coaches Training Course. Also, between 7 and 30 days before opening, at least 3 fitness coaches must attend the training. Each new coach retained must complete the course within 45 days after being hired.
The FDD states that Basecamp Fitness will charge its then-current fee for the Coaches Training Course, and these fees are payable before the training takes place. If the training is held at a location other than Basecamp Fitness's corporate offices or online, the franchisee is also responsible for the costs of travel, lodging, and meals. Additionally, the franchisee is responsible for all travel and living expenses incurred by personnel attending the training.
It is important to note that franchisees will not pay a separate training fee for coaches attending the Coaches Training Course within the first 12 months after the Basecamp Studio opens. However, beginning in month 13, the then-current per-attendee training fee will be charged for each coach attending the training, and this fee is nonrefundable and payable before the training.
