What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Basecamp Fitness's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee must submit a written relocation request at least 60 days before the intended relocation date. This request must include the new location and be accompanied by a $1,500 relocation fee.
This requirement allows Basecamp Fitness to adequately review the proposed new location to ensure it meets their standards and doesn't infringe on other franchisees' territories. The $1,500 fee likely covers the expenses Basecamp Fitness incurs during this review process. If the relocation is not approved, Basecamp Fitness will refund the relocation fee.
Additionally, the new location must be within the franchisee's protected territory and not within any territory granted to another franchisee. Upon approval, the franchisee is responsible for upgrading the new space to comply with Basecamp Fitness's current specifications and constructing the premises as required. After relocation, Basecamp Fitness will conduct a security inspection to ensure all security equipment is properly installed.
This policy ensures that any relocation maintains the brand's standards and protects the interests of all franchisees within the Basecamp Fitness system. Franchisees should carefully consider these requirements and associated costs before planning any relocation.
