What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Basecamp Fitness's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, while there is no direct charge for the Initial Training Program itself, franchisees are responsible for covering all travel and living expenses incurred by themselves and their personnel while attending the training. This applies to the Principal Owner, the designated Principal Operator, and the studio manager. The Initial Training Program, also known as "New Franchisee Training," is a comprehensive program that includes role-specific onboarding, presale training, launch training, and coaches training. It begins approximately 120 days before the studio opens and concludes about one week before the opening.
In addition to the Initial Training Program, Basecamp Fitness requires the Fitness Manager, and a minimum of three coaches to attend the Coaches Training Course. The total cost for this training is $3,000, which is nonrefundable and payable before the training. Franchisees are also responsible for all travel and living expenses incurred by themselves and their personnel while attending the training. The Fitness Manager must also attend Day in the Life Training, for which there is currently no cost, but franchisees are responsible for any travel and lodging costs incurred to attend the training.
Furthermore, if a franchisee registers for any training and cancels without providing 2 weeks' notice, fails to attend, or does not adequately prepare, they may incur a fee ranging from $500 to $1,000, or the actual costs of rescheduling travel, whichever is greater. This fee underscores the importance of commitment and preparation for the training programs. These expenses should be factored into the initial investment and operational budget for a Basecamp Fitness franchise.
