What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Basecamp Fitness's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a Compliance Drawing is a studio layout/design that Basecamp Fitness creates specifically for the franchisee's studio. This drawing is created before the franchisee begins construction of their Basecamp Studio.
For a prospective franchisee, the Compliance Drawing is a crucial step in setting up their studio. It ensures that the studio's design aligns with Basecamp Fitness's standards and specifications. The franchisee must supply Basecamp Fitness with accurate site information, including as-built drawings, surveys, technical data, construction documents, and site plans, to allow them to create the Compliance Drawing.
If a franchisee wants additional Compliance Drawings beyond the initial one, they must pay Basecamp Fitness's then-current fee per drawing. Furthermore, the franchisee must obtain written consent from Basecamp Fitness for their actual design before starting construction. This ensures that the studio adheres to Basecamp Fitness's brand standards and operational requirements.
The franchisee is also responsible for retaining a designated architectural vendor to create a complete set of detailed Construction Documents and to complete construction of their facility in compliance with Basecamp Fitness's mandatory specifications. These documents are also needed to obtain any required permits and conform the premises to local ordinances or building codes.
