ference Fee following the Conference. The conferences may be held at various locations that we will designate. (Franchise Agreement - Section 8).
Vitals Training
During the time you operate your Basecamp Studio, there may be additional training that we require you to attend in order to stay current on the policies, procedures, and techniques of operating a Basecamp studio. These programs are intended to maximize the profitability of your business. In the years that we do not offer a Conference, you must send a representative to a "Vitals" program, if offered. The program typically includes 1 to 5 days of training in the following areas: marketing, client engagement, member service, and other topics that we designate from time to time. This training will be conducted in a virtual format or at a location we designate, at our discretion. We offer this training generally every other year in those years in which we do not have a Conference scheduled. The training cost is $350 plus our costs to conduct the training. If applicable, you are responsible for all costs you and your personnel incur in attending these programs.
Continuing Engagement Credits
Each calendar year, your Basecamp Studio must obtain at least 1,200 continuing engagement credits within our System. The credits are not tied to hours, but to specific events or participation you have in our System.
There are no additional fees for receiving continuing engagement credits, or taking additional training, but you are responsible for any expenses you or your employees incur in completing any activity. We do not currently, but in the future may offer you the opportunity to take virtual or other online training to receive continuing engagement credits. If you fail to meet the minimum requirements in any year, you must pay us a fee of $1.00 per Basecamp Studio for each credit deficiency, which we will deposit in the General Advertising and Marketing Fund. As an example, if you have 1 Basecamp Studio, and you achieved only 1,000 credits for the year, you would pay us a fee of $200, but if you had multiple Basecamp Studios, you would pay $200 for each of those Basecamp Studios. The credits required are prorated for any partial year you are open.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Basecamp Fitness's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, attendance at the Basecamp Fitness conference is not strictly mandatory every year. However, in years when a conference is not scheduled, franchisees must send a representative to a "Vitals" program.
The "Vitals" program typically includes 1 to 5 days of training in areas such as marketing, client engagement, and member service. This program is offered generally every other year, coinciding with years when a conference is not scheduled. The training cost for the "Vitals" program is $350, in addition to any costs incurred to conduct the training, plus any expenses for personnel attending the program.
Furthermore, each Basecamp Fitness studio must obtain at least 1,200 continuing engagement credits within the Basecamp Fitness system annually. These credits are earned through participation in specific events or activities within the system. Failure to meet the minimum credit requirement results in a fee of $1.00 per credit deficiency per Basecamp Fitness studio, which is then deposited into the General Advertising and Marketing Fund. For example, if a franchisee with one studio achieves only 1,000 credits, they would pay a fee of $200. This fee is due on February 1 following the year in which the minimum requirement is not met.
