What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Bang Cookies' 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, the Technology Fee is tied to the definition provided in Article 5.C of the Franchise Agreement. While the excerpt defines several fees and services, such as the Annual Conference Attendance Fee (capped at $1,500 annually), Approved Services and Products, Assignment of Telephone Numbers and Digital Media Accounts, System Website, and Reputation Management Services, it does not specify what particular service the Technology Fee covers.
The FDD does define "System Website" as the webpage located at www.bangcookies.com, including all webpages and subdomains. It also defines "Digital Media" as any interactive or static electronic document, application, or media, including the Bang Cookies website and social media platforms. These definitions suggest that the Technology Fee could potentially be related to the maintenance and operation of the Bang Cookies website, digital media, or other technology-related services.
To fully understand what the Technology Fee covers, a prospective Bang Cookies franchisee should refer to Article 5.C of the Franchise Agreement, as indicated in the FDD. It would be prudent to ask Bang Cookies for a detailed breakdown of the services supported by the Technology Fee to assess its value and impact on the overall cost of operating the franchise.
