What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Bang Cookies's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, the initial franchise fee for a single franchise is $55,000. This fee grants the franchisee the right to operate a Bang Cookies shop under the terms of the Franchise Agreement. The initial franchise fee is a one-time payment due when signing the Franchise Agreement.
However, the FDD also mentions a different initial franchise fee structure for franchisees who sign a Multi-Unit Development Agreement. In this case, the franchisee pays a Development Area Fee in addition to the franchise fee for the first shop. The Development Area Fee is $35,000 for each additional shop the franchisee is authorized to develop beyond the first one. The minimum number of shops that can be developed under a Multi-Unit Development Agreement is three, and the maximum is five. Franchisees entering into a Multi-Unit Development Agreement will not be required to pay an additional Initial Franchise Fee for each additional shop beyond the first.
For franchisees pursuing a multi-unit development, the initial franchise fee for the first development shop is $35,000. The franchise fee is waived for each additional development shop beyond the first, provided the franchisee is not in default of the Multi-Unit Development Agreement. This incentivizes multi-unit development by reducing the upfront costs for subsequent locations. Prospective franchisees should carefully consider their growth plans and discuss the most suitable agreement structure with Bang Cookies to optimize their initial investment.
