What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Bang Cookies's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must obtain pre-approval for all marketing engagements. The FDD states that franchisees are not authorized to engage in any marketing unless it is pre-approved by Bang Cookies, in their discretion. This includes all advertising, marketing materials, and marketing mediums used for the promotion of the Bang Cookies shop.

Bang Cookies retains full discretion over the marketing standards, materials, and media used by franchisees. However, Bang Cookies may make available approved marketing templates, including pre-approved ads, ad copy, and digital media, which franchisees can use at their own expense. If a franchisee wishes to use materials not already approved, they can submit a written request, and Bang Cookies will approve or disapprove the request within 15 days.

Franchisees are required to spend a minimum of 2% of their quarterly Gross Sales on local marketing. Bang Cookies will review these local marketing programs for approval. The franchisor will also provide access to approved marketing campaigns, media, and messaging, including source designs, copy, and design specifications. Franchisees will bear the costs of customizing, duplicating, and using these campaigns, including printing, distribution, and media placement.

All digital media and marketing must also be approved by Bang Cookies. The franchisor will designate information about the franchisee's shop on the www.bangcookies.com webpage or other designated websites. This level of control over marketing is common in franchising to maintain brand consistency and protect the brand's image.
