What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Bang Cookies's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, the receipts, specifically Exhibit K, are located at the very end of the document. The FDD includes two copies of a detachable receipt. As a prospective Bang Cookies franchisee, you are instructed to sign one copy and return it to George Kuan at Bang Cookies Franchise LLC, 550 Industrial Road, Unit D, Carlstadt, New Jersey 07072. The other copy is for your own records.

It is a standard practice for franchisors to include a receipt in the FDD. This receipt serves as confirmation that the prospective franchisee has received the disclosure document, which contains important information about the franchise opportunity. This receipt helps Bang Cookies comply with franchise disclosure laws, which require franchisors to provide the FDD to potential franchisees within a specific timeframe before they sign any agreements or pay any fees.

Bang Cookies also includes specific instructions for Hawaii FDD Amendment, stating that Exhibit K "FDD Receipts," is supplemented with additional information. This includes that the franchise will be filed under the Franchise Investment Law of the State of Hawaii and that filing does not constitute approval, recommendation, or endorsement by the Director of Commerce and Consumer Affairs. It also states that the Disclosure Document contains a summary only of certain material provisions of the franchise agreement and the contract or agreement should be referred to for a statement of all rights, conditions, restrictions and obligations of both the franchisor and the franchisee.

Prospective franchisees should ensure they carefully follow the instructions for completing and returning the receipt to Bang Cookies, as this confirms their acknowledgement of receiving the FDD and understanding their rights and obligations under franchise law. Franchisees should also note the additional information for Hawaii FDD Amendment.
