Does Bang Cookies designate a territory before or after I select a shop location?

Bang_Cookies Franchise · 2024 FDD

Answer from 2024 FDD Document

Site Review, Approval and Designated Territory We will review the proposed site that you select for your Shop and will notify you of our approval or disapproval. Once you select a site that we approve for the location of your Shop, we will designate your Designated Territory. However, if you negotiate and we agree to designate and grant to you a Designated Territory prior to your selection of a Shop, then you must locate your Shop within the Designated Territory and at a site that we approve. You must obtain our approval of your Shop Location. Additional information about site selection is discussed in more detail below in this Item 11;

What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Bang Cookies's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, the designation of a territory can occur either before or after you select a shop location. Bang Cookies will review your proposed site and notify you of their decision. Typically, once you select a site that Bang Cookies approves, they will then designate your territory.

However, there is an exception. If you negotiate with Bang Cookies and they agree to grant you a designated territory before you select a shop, then you are required to locate your shop within that pre-approved designated territory. In either scenario, you must obtain Bang Cookies's approval of your shop location.

This dual approach provides flexibility but also requires careful consideration. If you choose to secure a territory beforehand, you limit your location options. If you select a location first, there's a risk that the designated territory might not meet your expectations. It is important to discuss the pros and cons of each approach with Bang Cookies before making a decision.
