What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Bambu's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Bambu can require franchisees to purchase different or additional services, hardware, software, and applications, including a different POS system. Bambu must provide 90 days' notice before requiring these changes. The new services, hardware, software, and applications must meet Bambu's minimum specifications, and the franchisee may also be required to pay any related subscription fees.
This means that as a Bambu franchisee, you need to be prepared for potential technology upgrades or changes to your service offerings that Bambu deems necessary. These changes could involve investments in new hardware, software, or subscription services, impacting your operating costs. The 90-day notice provides some lead time to budget for and implement these changes, but it's essential to factor in the possibility of these expenses when evaluating the franchise opportunity.
It is also important to note that Bambu also requires franchisees to acquire high-speed internet service that meets their current standards to effectively operate the POS system at the franchised location, including in-shoppe customer internet accessibility. Franchisees are also required to own and use a mobile smart phone or other device agreed to in writing by Bambu that meets Bambu's standards and specifications, with a minimum of 1 GB of combined data plan, that can and will be kept on and used to receive and send communications via SMS. Franchisees are responsible for all ongoing license, support, maintenance and updates to facilitate operation of the POS System and any required applications.
