Under what conditions might Bambu exempt a franchisee from participating in a promotion?
Bambu Franchise · 2025 FDDAnswer from 2025 FDD Document
From time to time a promotion may not benefit all franchisees in the Bambū system; and if the promotion is not offered in the region, or another unknown hardship arises, Bambu may, at Bambu's option, exempt Franchisee and/or other franchisees on a case-by-case basis.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Bambu's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are generally required to participate in all promotional campaigns. However, Bambu may choose to exempt a franchisee from a promotion under specific circumstances.
Bambu may exempt a franchisee if a promotion is not offered in the franchisee's region. Additionally, if an unknown hardship arises that affects a franchisee, Bambu reserves the option to grant an exemption. These exemptions are made on a case-by-case basis, meaning Bambu will evaluate each situation individually to determine if an exemption is warranted.
This clause provides Bambu with the flexibility to address situations where a promotion may not be beneficial or feasible for all franchisees. It also introduces an element of uncertainty for franchisees, as participation in promotions is typically mandatory, but exemptions are possible under certain undefined hardship conditions. Prospective franchisees should seek clarification from Bambu regarding the types of hardships that might qualify for an exemption and the process for requesting one.
