What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Bambu's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the Marketing and Technology Fund can be used to cover expenses related to technology used in the Bambu franchise system or Bambu shops. This includes technologies utilized in or related to Bambu's website, search engine optimization, reporting of information for Bambu shops, the equipment used in Bambu shops, and Bambu shop computer systems. These are collectively referred to as "Technology."
This means that the fund, which is contributed to by franchisees, can be used to invest in and maintain various technological aspects of the franchise. For a prospective franchisee, this indicates that a portion of their fees will go towards ensuring that the Bambu system remains up-to-date with current technology. It also suggests that Bambu is committed to providing franchisees with the necessary tools and systems to operate their businesses efficiently.
Bambu also has the right to use the fund to reimburse itself for administrative costs, including salaries of personnel providing services related to any Technology. This ensures that Bambu can adequately compensate the individuals responsible for managing and maintaining the technology infrastructure of the franchise system. It is important to note that Bambu has sole discretion over how the Marketing and Technology Fund is spent, though they will provide an unaudited financial statement upon written request from the franchisee.
