What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Bambu's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisee is responsible for engaging an approved local architect to prepare the final permit drawings for their Bambu store. These drawings include the shoppe floor plan, equipment layout, mechanical drawings, and other construction documents necessary for building the Bambu shoppe. The franchisee must get Bambu's written approval for any changes, improvements, designs, or decorations before starting any construction or remodeling, and the franchisee is solely responsible for all related costs.

Before the franchisee engages an architect, they must first obtain Bambu's written consent for their choice of architect. Bambu will not withhold approval as long as the architect can demonstrate sufficient expertise in commercial retail design work to ensure that the plans, approvals, and permits are obtained and the project is properly managed. However, if Bambu does not approve the franchisee's architect, Bambu may require the franchisee to use an architectural firm designated by Bambu.

Once the final plans are approved by Bambu, they cannot be changed without prior written approval. The franchisee is also responsible for submitting these materials to the relevant governmental authorities for permitting and to their landlord, if applicable. It is the franchisee's responsibility to ensure that all architectural designs, mechanical drawings, site plans, blueprints, and construction plans comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and codes, including the Americans with Disabilities Act, and any lease or purchase agreement.
