What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Bambu's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisee is responsible for the costs associated with architectural designs and mechanical drawings. While Bambu will provide assistance with the kitchen workflow design and equipment specifications, the franchisee must cover the expenses for obtaining these designs and drawings. This includes any modifications to plans provided by Bambu and the overall cost of construction.

Bambu requires franchisees to use their designated architectural firm or another architect that Bambu approves. The construction documents must also receive Bambu's approval before being submitted for permitting and construction. Any changes to the plans that deviate materially from the initial kitchen workflow design and equipment specifications provided by Bambu are also subject to their approval.

This arrangement is typical in franchising, where franchisees generally bear the costs of build-out and construction to ensure the location meets brand standards. Prospective Bambu franchisees should factor these costs into their initial investment and budget accordingly. It is important to communicate closely with Bambu and their approved architects to manage these expenses effectively and ensure compliance with all requirements.
