What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Bambu's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, if Bambu does not approve of a franchisee's chosen architect or general contractor, Bambu may require the franchisee to engage an architectural firm or general contractor that Bambu designates. This ensures that the construction and design of the Bambu shoppe meet the franchisor's standards.

This requirement means a potential franchisee might not be able to work with local contractors they prefer or have existing relationships with. Instead, they may be obligated to use Bambu's approved professionals, which could impact costs and project timelines. Franchisees should inquire about the criteria for architect and contractor approval and the potential costs associated with using Bambu's designated professionals.

Furthermore, Bambu may also require the franchisee to use a company that will supervise the buildout of its Bambu shoppe if Bambu determines that the architect or contractor the franchisee intends to use has insufficient knowledge and experience to build a Bambu shoppe. If a franchisee changes the plans or the construction of its Bambu shoppe without Bambu's knowledge or prior written approval, Bambu may require the franchisee to conform its Bambu shoppe to the approved plans before the franchisee can open its Bambu shoppe to the public.
