You must own a smartphone or other mobile device with access to the Internet enabling you to communicate via SMS. Additionally, we require that you login to, regularly access, and fully participate in our FRC, which includes communicating with other franchisees and with us.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Bambu's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are required to own a smartphone or other mobile device with internet access to communicate via SMS. This requirement is part of the technology infrastructure necessary for operating a Bambu franchise. Franchisees also need this device to log in, regularly access, and fully participate in Bambu's Franchisee Resource Center (FRC). This includes communicating with other franchisees and with the franchisor.
The FRC is a critical platform for Bambu franchisees, containing the Owner Operations Manual, training materials, a blog, a forum, notices, marketing materials, artwork, health compliance information, and an ordering platform. Bambu may modify the FRC materials at its discretion, and franchisees are expected to stay informed of any changes. The FRC and SMS communications are primary methods by which Bambu communicates standards, specifications, and updates to franchisees.
In addition to the smartphone requirement, Bambu franchisees must purchase a point-of-sale (POS) system that meets Bambu's specifications. The currently required POS system is the Square bundled system, which includes hardware and software for the customer loyalty rewards program, shoppe and hands-free online ordering, credit card processing, and customer tipping. Franchisees will pay monthly fees for the POS system's maintenance and updates. Bambu also reserves the right to require franchisees to use a new or different POS system in the future, necessitating a conversion to the new system at the franchisee's expense. These technology requirements ensure that all Bambu locations operate with a consistent and up-to-date system for customer interaction, loyalty programs, and operational management.
