What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Bambu's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, if a franchisee wishes to use a supplier not already approved by Bambu, they must first seek approval from Bambu. This process involves a fee to cover Bambu's costs for testing and investigating the proposed supplier.
The franchisee is responsible for paying Bambu $150 per hour per person involved in the testing and investigation. Additionally, the franchisee must reimburse Bambu for the actual cost of any testing conducted and the reasonable costs incurred during the investigation of the potential new supplier. Bambu will then notify the franchisee of their decision regarding the supplier's approval within 30 days of receiving the written request.
Bambu retains the discretion to reject a proposed supplier for various reasons, including protecting trade secrets or based on the terms offered by the proposed supplier compared to existing approved suppliers. This policy ensures that Bambu maintains control over its supply chain and quality standards, while also allowing franchisees the option to seek alternative suppliers under specific conditions and with Bambu's approval.
